As a little girl, our founder would step out after every bath wrapped in a towel and ask her aunt to imagine—and create—a brand-new dress. Her aunt, a gifted seamstress and the person who lovingly brought those childhood ideas to life, rarely said no.

That ritual sparked a lifelong love of beautiful clothing.

By the age of ten, she was sketching dresses for her younger sister. As birthdays approached, she would bring hand-drawn ideas to local tailors, carefully choosing fabrics, silhouettes, and details to create something uniquely her own.

During college, that passion continued. Instead of buying everyday clothes, she designed many of her own dresses and worked with neighborhood seamstresses to bring them to life. Wherever she went, people would ask where her dresses came from.

Curiosity soon became craftsmanship. She learned to sew, took classes at local fabric stores, and spent years understanding how garments are designed, constructed, and finished.

EKAEI was born from those years of dreaming, creating, and learning.
